Good breakfast Not a fancy south Philly restaurant for breakfast but food was good. Coffee was excellent. People are very friendly and a lot of locals. I will go back.

Came here on Sunday 06/02/24 to grab some breakfast before day 2 of roots picnic. This is a legit diner down to the decor and seating. We were seated upon arrival and placed our orders within 10mins. Our foot arrived no more than 20mins after. We had: Steak and eggs: 10/10 the char on the steak was perfect as was the consistency of the eggs. Pancake breakfast (mine): 10/10 it came with 2 pancakes, eggs, bacon and sausage. I opted for 4 pieces of bacon and added a side of grits. The density of the pancakes was perfect without being too heavy. Our waitress was very sweet and complimentary. She asked us questions about our trip and just made random conversation that was super organic. Kindness is free so I'm always happy to have pleasant interactions with people, regardless of how short. I wish I could remember her name but she was a shorter Caucasian woman with a short pulled back ponytail (hey girl hey!) I genuinely have no complaints. The diner was 24hrs so if I ever find myself in PA again I'd come back no question.

A friend of mine looked at this diner as having fancy options. I couldn't sense if he was joking with me or not, but if he was not, I have to disagree. While offering a pizza burger may not be the most common item to offer, the look and the overall taste of my buffalo chicken salad, his coffee but able to have it in the evening spoke "basic." This is not necessarily a bad thing, but it serves the people that want items that tend to be more straightforward. I ordered a salad, which I usually don't do, because none of the other items screamed at me. I was totally okay with this- it was a pretty healthy options to be surrounded by so many vegetables, but still being courteous to the company sharing their time with me as well as to patronize the diner itself. The waiter and cashier were both really nice and they didn't rush us since the diner was not full on this peaceful, but really rainy Saturday night.

Felt compelled to write a review after I had two great meals here, but also when I heard the building is being sold from local friends and I'll be sad to not be able to eat here again. Came here on a Saturday for breakfast and Sunday for brunch and no problem getting a seat, the old school diner vibe felt just like the warm cups of coffee they poured, and the food was very, very good. My breakfast was two eggs scrambled with srapple, hash browns and english muffin. Scrapple was fried up perfect, the cook on the browns were stellar, and I liked the whipped butter for my english muffin. Our server was super nice, and my friend who lives around the corner loved his breakfast sandwich. Came back the next day with a slight hangover, and again, it was such a good move. Our server this time was also super speedy and nice, the chicken salad triple decker sandwich was SO good. Lots of chicken, lots of bacon, and the fries were tasty! My friend got the special french toast with lemon, blueberry and the cookie butter and he was in heaven. Im hoping next time I visit, I can come back and order some more delicious food with a hot cup of coffee.

I'm a sucker for a great long-time diner. Not sure what the other ratings are about, but I enjoyed this place. Great Reuben. It's a diner, not a Michelin star restaurant.

Classic diner food! This is just a no fuss good breakfast. You don't have to wait for a table on a Sunday. The food is delicious and comes out fast. The servers are quick and efficient. In a city full of overpriced brunch, this is a truly a gem where you can just go get a quick, delicious, reasonably priced breakfast.
